Happy Tuneful Tuesday! It’s Pumpkin Spice season….and you know what that means?! Pumpkin songs for all! Here’s a pumpkin themed finger play to “Three Little Pumpkins”, a traditional tune sent to us by CMN member Liz Buchanan. Actually, this song was passed down to Liz by her mother who used to sing it to children in the 1960’s which makes it an “heirloom” pumpkin song! In this version, Liz adds her own creative pumpkin spice to the song to make it even more fun for kids and music lovers alike! Let’s take a listen:
Three Little Pumpkins
(traditional, additional lyrics by Liz Buchanan)
Three little pumpkins, lying very still
In a pumpkin patch on a great big hill
This one says, “I’m very, very green,
But I’ll be orange by Halloween.”
This one says, “It’s my big night
To be a jack-o-lantern bright.”
This one says, “Oh me, oh my,
I’m going to be a pumpkin pie!”
But all three say, “What scares me most
Is that I just might see a ghost!” Boo!
