Snowball Fight by Joanie Calem on Tuneful Tuesday

Member Joanie Calem has contributed a series of songs celebrating winter for the month of February, and we’re loving them!

I always loved Carole Stephens idea of using soap sponges for a pretend snowball fight.  I really wanted a song to accompany the game.  It’s a simple straight ahead song that incorporates the rules (only 2 snowballs at a time in your hands), the self-control of freezing on time, and the cleanup at the end.

This is fun to pull out at any time of the year!  And it is always a return request!

Oh let’s all have a snowball fight

All day long and all the night

Get two snowballs, hide behind the trees,

Throw ‘em real fast,  but then you gotta freeze!

Oh let’s all have a snowball fight

All day long and all the night

Get two snowballs, hide behind the trees,

Throw ‘em real slow,  but then you gotta freeze!

(repeat)**

Well the sun comes out, the snow melts away

It’s the end of a great snow day

Now we’ve gotta clean up, gotta do our best

And when we’re all done we can take a rest!

**Vary how you sing: quickly, slowly, quietly, loudly etc, as many times as you would like! For the end, sing the final verse.
