Good Friends by Andrea Green on Tuneful Tuesday

Member Andrea Green‘s song, Good Friends, is from her Emmy Award Winning Documentary (and musical of the same name) On the Other Side of the Fence.

Andrea Green & teacher Teresa Maebori receive Proclamation from the City of Philadelphia for their 30 year musical partnership project

I wrote Good Friends in 1982 as a song to bring children together from the HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Germantown Friends School. It is a featured song in my musical ‘On the Other Side of the Fence’ which tells the story of friendship that develops between animals who live on opposing farms. My goal with the song (as well as with the musical) is to create a vehicle that gives children the opportunity to sing about what they are experiencing as they work together and get to know each other. For over 30 years this song has been performed by children in a wide variety of educational and theater settings where friendships developed into long-lasting relationships and wonderful memories.

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG and LOVE LOVE LOVE the musical. It should be staged in every school in America–nay, in every town in the world. Bravo! Encore!

  2. Someday, someday I will put this musical on…It’s so beautiful!
