Please Don’t Eat My Guitar! by The Salamanders on Tuneful Tuesday

Today’s song comes from new members The Salamanders.

From Andrew Hunt of The Salamanders:

Please Don’t Eat My Guitar is a fun tune we play for large and small shows to get kids engaged. For smaller groups when playing at ground level, the song is “flexible” enough that it can be changed, sped up, slowed down, and extended to encourage all sorts of discussion. We often encourage kids to tell us what their favorite animal is and then they get to take part in crafting the song as we go. Also the instrumental break is great when we pass out the shakers, kazoos, and hand drums. The lyric “Please don’t eat my guitar!” was written when my 18-month old was really wanting to strum along on my guitar when I sang to him. After wiping off copious amounts of drool from my fret board, the line just came naturally.
