Favorite Color Blues by Wayne Potash on Tuneful Tuesday

Today’s song is by member Wayne Potash, and it’s great for singing outdoors now that winter is done!

What kid doesn’t like to share their favorite color? What children’s musician doesn’t like to have a room full of children instantly engaged and participating? Coming from a bit of a blues background I liked the double meaning of the song title and I just wrote the song from there. The song is super simple and anyone can insert colors and motions into the song as best serves their situation. This song is from my album “Yodel For a Fish.”

Favorite Color Blues by Wayne Potash

If blue’s your favorite color
I’ll tell you what to do
Clap your hands together
And don’t stop ’till we’re through

If it’s your favorite color
Or one you like alot
If it’s your favorite color
Or even if it’s not

If pink’s …
Stamp your feet on the floor

If it’s your favorite color
Or one you like alot
If it’s your favorite color
Or even if it’s not

If yellow’s…
Tap your toes together…

If red’s you favorite color…
Shake your head up and down…

If green’s…
Pull your ears with your hands…

If purple’s…
Pat your legs with your hands…

If orange is your favorite…
Reach your hands up to the sky…

Now If I didn’t sing your favorite
I don’t want you to cry
If I didn’t sing your favorite
Let me see you jump up high

What’s your favorite color
Or one you like a lot
If it’s your favorite color
Or even if it’s not…

Jump higher!
